Presidential Election 2008
The approaching presidential election, to be held in November 2008, has already emerged with the promise of being one of the most historic contests in United States history. In addition to the strong representation of women and minorities, it also represents the first election since 1928 that does not feature an incumbent president or previous vice-president as a major party candidate. Additionally, the 2008 election will undoubtedly highlight a variety of health care issues and concerns. Once the party convention season has concluded later in the year, we will be providing candidate positions as they align with CHRISTUS issue briefs, including such topics as stem cell research, reproductive health, health information technology, immigration, faith based initiatives, and the plight of the uninsured. Please check back with this site frequently to find further information on all the presidential candidates and their positions on these and other important issues that impact the ministry of CHRISTUS Health.
